This year we have decided to run 2 mini shows within the Algarve Dog Show and to focus on two special Portuguese Breeds. On Saturday The Serra de Estrela will be featured. Before the show Maria-Jose Mombers will give an introduction talk to this fabulous gentle giant. She will have lots of information with her. Maria has been helping this breed here for many years. These are some of her dogs.
The black ones are BELAMI and BEATRICE DA VIVEIRO DA FONTE SANTA , SMOOTH COATED VARIETY. The brown is NEVADA DA QUINTA DE SAO FERNANDO one of my her "best female" winning bitches. LONG COAT VARIETY
 
On Sunday we will feature the Portuguese Water Dog with a Mini Show for them. These are again working dogs, bred and used by the fisher men from way back in the 1600s. Yes they have changed a bit over the years, thankfully not too different here in Portugal but some in other parts of the world do not look much as they were.
